Entry Level Environmental Scientist/Engineer

EnviroServices & Training Center, a Hawai‘i-owned and operated environmental consulting firm, is seeking a full-time Entry Level Environmental Scientist/Engineer for its Honolulu office.

Employee must possess the necessary knowledge, education, experience, physical abilities, and communication skills to perform the duties described below:

• Assist with conducting stormwater inspections of Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) facilities, Industrial activities, and construction activities for compliance with National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permit requirements.

• Conduct physical inspections of stormwater infrastructure such as outfalls, open channels, and other drainage structures.

• Unpack inspection results and prepare technical reports.

• Evaluate and synthesize data to identify program improvements.

• Participate in public education and outreach events.

• Prepare a variety of written, site-specific plans and contract documents to detail project activities and/or to specify requirements for contractors.

• Identify both site-specific and programmatic deficiencies in compliance with applicable rules and regulations.

• Develop and present a variety of technical training programs for various stakeholders associated with the program, ranging from project designers to construction contractors to owners/operators of commercial/industrial facilities.

• Collect storm water samples during rain events.

• Work closely with senior staff, regulators, and client representatives on multiple projects based in the office and field.
  

Skills/Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in environmental science, engineering, or other physical science from an U.S.-accredited four-year college or university.

• Excellent client-services skills.

• Strong reading comprehension, technical writing skills, and verbal communication skills.

• Detail-oriented with strong organization and time management skills.

• Ability to work independently and in a team setting, organize/manage multiple priorities, and conduct problem analysis/resolution.

• Possessing a stormwater certification (e.g., CISEC, CPESC, CPISM, etc.) is a plus.

• Proficient with PC and MS Office.

• Valid drivers' license, vehicle, and vehicle insurance.

• Must be able to interview in Honolulu.

Salary: $51,000 - $62,000
